I'm back, Jack!

HEY-O! I AM BACK for now. I am currently on week 2 of my half marathon training. It has been about 4 ½ weeks since I sprained my ankle and I am almost back to my old self mentally/physically. For the most part I have been making better food choices and have only been running for the last two weeks. I know that cross training and weight lifting are beneficial to my training as well BUT there is a method to my madness. The first reason is I am worried that if I push myself too hard or too fast that I will not only make my injury worst but also that my foot will take longer to heal and my Half Marathon in November will be out of the question. The second reason is I am going to join a new gym that just opened and I’m waiting until I’m confident in my healing to join.

I’m not going to make any promises that I will blog often or that I will make perfect choices but I am pretty happy with myself right now and am hoping I can continue on the path that I’m on.

I have to say that this injury and the 2 weeks I took off to heal has really messed up my pace time. I was running about a 10 minute mile and now I’m at about a 14 minute mile. That’s a big difference especially considering I want to run 13 of them bad boys in a couple months. EEEEK!

I didn’t make my #HOTPANTS goal that I was wanting to reach on September 1st, in fact I am fitting in them the same as I was a few months ago which I’m not very happy about but hey that’s life! I am going to continue to work towards fitting into those pants alongside the huge pile of goal clothes I have just sitting at the bottom of my closet if it’s the last thing I do!
