First 9 mile run!

Saturday I set my alarm wrong (seems to be happening a lot lately) and woke up an hour after I planned to. Which meant that I went out for my run 2hours later than I wanted to seeing as now matter how prepared I am I always seem to lose something or can't find something else. So it takes me about an hour to wake up, eat breakfast, and get ready for my run.

I usually amp myself up for several days before my runs. I was soooo beyond ready to get this run out of the way so I could enjoy the rest of the day with my familia.

Running is such a mental game. People seriously don't give mental strength enough credit! I think since I got past my mental block of the 7mile mark I have been pretty golden. That's not to say that my run Saturday was easy by any means. I have to admit that for the last 2 weeks I have been slacking on my workouts/runs. I usually only run on Saturdays and Sundays and workout at the gym 3-4 days a week depending on how my body is feeling and what I have going on. At the gym I try to run 1-2 miles each day I go.

BUT I have been surprisingly doing very well with my eating. For the last week I have only eating maybe 10 pieces of candy that includes mini tootsie rolls. This weekend even though the family ate out almost every meal I got smaller meals and didn't finish what I had got. In fact one day the family actually ate out twice and I stayed home and made myself healthy meals!!!!

I haven't weighed myself in quite some time but I can feel my pants are fitting pretty good today!

Anyways back to my run it was a cold 40° out and even though I have a small cold I ran 9MILES!!!!!!!!!!! The first 3 miles are always the worst but after that it wasn't too bad. I didn't have many GU Gels and forgot to buy some more before my run otherwise I think I would've done a little bit better. They really do help!

This weekend I have my first double digit run and I'm not as nervous for this one as I was for my previous runs! But I am getting pretty terrified about the half it's less than 3 weeks away! EEEK!

It's crazy to think that exactly 1 year ago this week I ran my first 5k and am gearing up to run my first half marathon!!!! Also this is the first Halloween that I haven't cared too much about the candy! In fact most of the babies candy is still in the kitchen and hasn't been touched much. I would say we have at least 5lbs!
