After my first 5k in November I was pumped I wanted more! Sadly the next 5k that I knew about would be 5 months later. I slept horrible the night before and I was worried about my calves since they were still really sore from the over 6mile run I did Monday.
I had all my things laid out the night before and was pretty excited! I have been training like crazy and hoped that all my hard work was going to pay off.
The hubby and I got to the race about 30mins early and he was being an ass since he worked the night before and had been up for over 16hours. I still love him but my God he always knows how to shit on my parade!
So on top of him putting me in a not-so-great mood I was tired from pretty much being up since 3am and the run started at 9am.
This run was much harder than my first I want to say it was because of the cold weather (40°). It rained the night before and lightly rained during part of the race. I have gotten accustomed to the 65+ degrees we have been having for a while now. Also I had to pass by my biological mothers house. I don't know if I have shared anything about my family with y'all I'm pretty sure I haven't but that's one wound I don't want to cut open again. Lets just say it wasn't something I was expecting nor something I was wanting to see.
I finished at about 38:22 which is 4 minutes faster than my first but I was hoping for a much better time. It took a good 5 minutes after I finished to breathe normal again I felt like my chest was going to collapse and I didn't stop coughing for several hours after.
This race I just wasn't feeling it and don't feel the pride I did with my first. And now I'm on the fence if I still even want to race anymore, we will see.
here are a few pics from the race.

That's a great improvement in your time. Keep it up!!
